Japan Tourism Agency to work together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and cooperating more strongly with JNTO offices overseas and other government establishments overseas. The plan is to coordinate 48 events and exhibits throughout 23 oversea markets. The idea is to make use of strengths and resources held by government establishments overseas in order to achieve an effective and efficient inbound promotion.

Saitama city started a service where interpreters are on call on 119 dial, emergency call for medical and fire incidents, serving foreigners 24 hours 365 days. The old automatic guidance system has been replaced by this new system with translators due to the fact that detailed information could not be obtained and there had been feedback from foreigners that a more detailed service was in need.

On June 3rd, 10 Chinese journalists, participants of the conference, visited the Prefectural museum for another meeting. Travelex Japan, the Japanese branch of Travelex, opens a new currency exchange outlet in Echika situated in Ginza. This store will also offer Western Union International Remittance Service soon. Travelex Japan will have opened 6 new shops in Japan this year, a total of 65 so far.

The newly opened café "Komorebi" has been a new popular spot for tourists. This café was once an old wooden ryokan which had closed in Toyooka hot spring area last year. Komorebi was opened to provide foreign tourists a restful place during hot spring hunting around the town.
